Commemorative Coins of India

commemorative coins are basically in two forms - proof and uncirculated variety. the proof coins are of highest quality and frost finish, where as uncirculated coins are of very good quality and shining finish.commemorative coins wii be issued on special occassions or events. high denomination of these coins contain 50% silver. these coins are not meant for public circulation, but for coin collectors only. reserve bank of india is minting these type of coins since 1964.

Gudimallam

gudi mallam is a small village in chittoor district of andhra pradesh. it can be reached from thirupathi via papanaidupeta.it is said that gudi mallam is previously called " gudi pallam " which means a temple below the ground level.in this village there is a distinguished shiv temple called parasurameswara swamy temple which is historically assigned to 1st or 2nd century.main deity shiv can be seen in the form of " lingodhbhava " . shiv murthy is standing on a demon in the form of phallus, which is symbolic of the generative power in the nature.

Sundupalli Megaliths

Sundupalli megaliths
there are a number of megaliths round the world. in india most megaliths or ( sila samadhulu ) are also called as " pandava gullu" meaning pandava temples.as per historians most megaliths were of neo-lithic period which lasts from 2500 b.c. to 1000b.c. followed by iron age. megaliths are still a mystery to reveal. are they tombs? or are they linked with astronomy ? sundu palli is a mandal head quarter of ysr district of andhra pradesh ( india ). it is nearly 25kms from rayachoty. from sundupalli 5kms towards north , there is a small sloppy hill near kammagutta palli, named " patthi konda " , on which these megaliths can be found. many local people are not aware of these ruined stone structures. nearly 20 to 30 structures are there , some ruined by treasure hunters and some were crushed to pieces to make road metal. these megalith structures are very peculiar - a rectangle shaped stone chamber structure with a capstone, surrounded by flower petals like carved stones . SAVE OUR HERITAGE!!!


Penchala Kona Jayanthi

Penchala kona, is  located in Rapur mandal of Nellore district in Andhrapradesh,India.The 'PENCHALA ' name derived from 'PENUSILA ' which means a huge rock or twined rock. The Lord in this temple is called penusila sri Narasimha swamy or somasila Narasimha swamy. Devotees call Him as one of 'nava narasimhas' in india.During jathra days huge crowds come over here from neighbouring  districts. water falls near the temple is to be seen. 

Ancient Tombs

ancieent tombs are there near inayath khan pond, southeast fields of rayachoty, ysr dist, of andhra pradesh. local people call them as " brihath samadhulu " meaning big tombs. round the tombs big stones are laid in the circular form and the farmers dont tilt them , with a respect to their ancient people. one of the tomb was escavated by treasure hunters and some pieces of broken pots found there indicates that ancient people's performed pooja while laying corpse in the hole. nearly 50 to 100 such circular stone structures can be found in these fields.if it happens to see like these tombs dont dig or destroy them. SAVE OUR CULTURAL HERITAGE FOR OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS

Kashi Ganga Ghats

Kashi is a city of lord shiva , the most sacred place for all hindus .This place kasi(kashi) or varanasi is historically and mythologically known for a thousand years. Ghat is a place where certain arrangements are made for bathing. At varanasi there are more than 100 ghats along the bank of ganges, where the devotees take a saccred dip in these water. Every hindu wants to take a dip at this place atleast once in his life time, so that he will be purified from all sins done knowingly or un knowingly.See some holy ghats at holy city of india.

Lepakshi - Veerabhadraswamy Temple

This temple dates back to 16th centuary. it is a speciman of vijayanagara style of architecture. lepakshi Nandi is the biggest monolithic nandi in india. Lepakshi is both a a tourism and pligrim centre.central hall and dancing hall sculpture is worth to see
