Sundupalli Megaliths

Sundupalli megaliths
there are a number of megaliths round the world. in india most megaliths or ( sila samadhulu ) are also called as " pandava gullu" meaning pandava temples.as per historians most megaliths were of neo-lithic period which lasts from 2500 b.c. to 1000b.c. followed by iron age. megaliths are still a mystery to reveal. are they tombs? or are they linked with astronomy ? sundu palli is a mandal head quarter of ysr district of andhra pradesh ( india ). it is nearly 25kms from rayachoty. from sundupalli 5kms towards north , there is a small sloppy hill near kammagutta palli, named " patthi konda " , on which these megaliths can be found. many local people are not aware of these ruined stone structures. nearly 20 to 30 structures are there , some ruined by treasure hunters and some were crushed to pieces to make road metal. these megalith structures are very peculiar - a rectangle shaped stone chamber structure with a capstone, surrounded by flower petals like carved stones .
